Women Working in Agriculture Workshop

November 13, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
$15

The Medina Valley Soil & Water Conservation District and Natural Resource Conservation Service are partnering in providing a technical, motivational and relationship building workshop in Hondo, Texas. The goal for the workshop is to engage women in building connections and relationships with other women in South Texas. These relationships are very valuable in enabling women to share experiences with others who are getting started or already seasoned in the agriculture industry.

Topics for the day include a welcome and introduction round table talk, motivational speaker, “The Old, The New, The Wild” Stewardship talk, AgriLife Extension-FSA-NRCS-MVSWCD overview, soil health demonstration, and a hands-on field tour covering brush management. The workshop will be held at the new Quail Creek Crossing venue south of Hondo. Lunch will be included with registration. Local boutiques will provide a fashion show during lunch and door prizes will be drawn throughout the day.

Registration fee is $15 if signed up by 1 PM on Friday, November 8. Registration fee after that time will be $20. Attendees may register by calling the NRCS/MVSWCD Office (830) 426-2521 or coming by 257 Hwy 173, Suite A in Hondo.
